INTRO TEXT
For THUNDER JACKSON, the line between his art and his personal journey of self-discovery has merged into one, as evidenced by the brilliantly crafted, long-awaited second album, HELLO STRANGER (VERO Music). As evidenced by the set's stand-out hits - "Spoonfed Desire," "Steady Freddy, and "The Fever & the Dream" - the project is an intentionally unfiltered view into the man he has become – flaws and all.
“Making this album has forever changed me,” Jackson says. “It has also changed how I portray my art to the world. Every song is me sharing a piece of my story with the hope that it will be as relatable as it is personal.”
HELLO STRANGER is produced by Jackson and Taylor Johnson, and mixed by Grammy and ARIA award winner Eric J (Weezer, St. Vincent). The set effectively showcases Jackson at his most commandingly charismatic, as he performs with a gritty warmth and relatability throughout the set, which ranges from intimate ballads and arena-ready rockers.
HELLO STRANGER includes the recent Thunder Jackson international hits “Steady Freddy” and “Spoonfed Desire,” which have become pop radio staples in Germany. Both tracks are accompanied by Jarrod Evans-directed videos that have earned critical praise for their rich cinematic style.
Jackson’s new musical era has also been marked by a triumphant performance at the highly influential South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. He was featured at a showcase hosted by CLASH magazine, and he brought the house down with a set of songs that combined new tunes with tracks from his multi-million streaming 2020 eponymous debut. Of the experience, Jackson said, “As a kid, you always dream of these moments, the unexplainable feeling you get while playing your songs to people that are there to listen and connect," he says.
Jackson will further strengthen his stage chops with a spring concert tour of the U.S., as well as a headline gig at the Great Escape festive in Brighton, England on May. 16
